A UWE (University of the West of England) project; create a
B5, spiral bound document with 30 different ideas and analysis of design
studios/artists/practices.
I aimed to create something that looked bad but was
carefully considered. The style was influenced by mood boards focused on
scanography, collage and scenography. I created a narrative between a
rebellious designer and an oppressive university, told through pink slips
placed across spreads. Rubbish was scanned and layered with text, using taped
notes, stains and textured backgrounds. The outcome was one A5 publication,
designed in Photoshop, combining physical mess with structured layout. This
project taught me about visual storytelling, texture and pushing the line
between design and parody.
